About FEAP

FEAP offers quality, professional, and comprehensive employee assistance services, tailored to individual needs. FEAP Consultants provide expert consultation and training for organizational leadership seeking to manage employee needs, enhance the work environment, and improve workplace communication and performance. FEAP Consultants work with faculty, staff and their adult family members to address both personal and professional concerns in a variety of areas including stress, emotional and physical health, relationships, substance misuse and more, that may affect job performance. Services include organizational consultation to Employee Assistance Program (EAP) accounts, developing program awareness and education activities, clinical assessment, intervention and referral, crisis intervention, establishing community linkages, and case management .

Responsibilities

  • Provide short-term counseling, assessment, and referral for faculty, staff, and family members.


  • Deliver consultation and guidance to supervisors, managers, HR, and employee relations on workplace concerns.


  • Facilitate training, education, and outreach to promote well-being, engagement, and performance.


  • Support organizations in navigating complex employee situations and crisis response .


  • Participate in clinical case consultation, maintain timely documentation, and uphold confidentiality standards.


  • Contribute to FEAP’s after- hours on-call rotation following training.


  • Partner with colleagues to enhance service delivery and support FEAP’s strategic initiatives.


  • Follow clinical and ethical guidelines of the Employee Assistance Program Association (EAPA) and those of the corresponding Clinical License (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, CNS) and or other credential if applicable .


  • This role is designed for professionals who enjoy integrating their foundational clinical expertise into brief, solution-focused counseling, consultation, and referral work within a collaborative university environment.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Counseling , Social Work, Psychology, or Marriage & Family Therapy strongly preferred.


  • Five years of relevant experience providing behavioral health or EAP services.


  • Licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or CNS. ( they do not have to be licensed)


  • Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) required within 24 months of hire.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with crisis intervention, critical incident response, or care management.


  • Background in workplace consultation, employee relations, or organizational training.


  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust across diverse populations.


  • Excellent professional judgment, documentation, and time management skills.


  • Demonstrated ability to balance short-term counseling, consultative responsibilities and organizational needs.


  • Team -oriented approach with a commitment to continuous learning and development.


The anticipated hiring range is $ 66 ,000 - $ 80 ,000 , commensurat e with education and experience . This is an exempt-level, benefite d position. Learn more about UVA benefits .

This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and is eligible for a hybrid work schedule in accordance with UVA’s remote work guidelines. Occasional travel to UVA and community worksites is required , and the role includes participation in an after-hours on-call rotation following onboarding . This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
